A slender building decorated with heads carved out of stone on South Federal Street went up for sale in late August at just under $5 million. If it sells soon, that will be the third time the vacant building has sold since 2022. It’s not clear how long the building sandwiched between the Union League Club and a parking garage has been out of use — at least 18 years and possibly much longer — but it’s certain that when it was up and running, this was quite a place.
