Adelaide Crows have partnered with childcare provider Kool Beanz to develop a Crows-themed childcare centre in Mount Barker.
Adelaide Crows have announced a partnership with childcare provider Kool Beanz to develop a Crows-themed childcare centre in Mount Barker, in the Adelaide Hills. The centre would accommodate 100 children at a time and provide a football-centric learning environment, subject to planning permission. It would be located alongside The Summit Sport and Recreation Park.
The project is spearheaded through the Adelaide Crows Foundation and would employ 20 staff. It would be Kool Beanz's first centre in South Australia. Mount Barker has a population of 46,000 growing annually at 3.5 per cent and is one of the Crows' biggest supporter bases.
Crows chief executive Tim Silvers said the club saw it as an opportunity to establish a permanent presence in the region and connect with local families. The centre would deliver evidence-based programmes supporting wellbeing and education for young people in Mount Barker and surrounding areas. Kool Beanz Academy founder Bruce Coulson described the proposed centre as being 'like no other in Australia', noting the location's proximity to Adelaide's city centre and the region's rapid growth.
