The Atlanta Dream lost 68-63 to the Golden State Valkyries in Game 7 of the WNBA Finals on Saturday at Chase Center in San Francisco. The Valkyries erased a nine-point deficit in the second half and outscored the Dream by seven points in the third quarter. It was the Dream's first Finals appearance since 2013.

Angel Reese finished with eight points on 3-for-7 shooting, 12 rebounds and four turnovers. She scored one point and did not attempt a field goal in the fourth quarter. Gabby Williams scored 30 points for the Valkyries and was named Finals MVP. Over the seven-game series, Reese recorded 27 turnovers, setting a WNBA Finals record.

Reese said after the game that Atlanta would return to the Finals. 'It is tough in the moment, but we'll be back,' she told reporters. 'I always say, delayed not denied, and this is only year three.' She expressed pride in her season, in which she averaged a career-best 16.4 points per game during the regular season whilst adding 12.1 rebounds per game, made her third All-Star team and earned All-Defensive First Team honours.

Fox News reports that Reese announced a six-month break from her 'Unapologetically Angel' podcast to rest and spend time in Florida with her boyfriend, Orlando Magic centre Wendell Carter Jr.
