An art and photography exhibition celebrates 80 years of twinning between Oxford and Dutch city Leiden.

An art and photography exhibition is marking the 80-year friendship between Oxford and its Dutch twin city of Leiden. The twinning link between the two cities was formed in 1946.

The exhibition, named Verweven (Dutch) or Interwoven (English), runs from 4 to 14 November at the Kendrew Barn Gallery at St John's College in St Giles, open from noon to 6pm. It features work by 14 artists from Oxford and two from Leiden, including paintings, drawings, photography, textiles, ceramics and installation pieces from Magdalen Road Studios in Oxford and Ars Aemula Naturae in Leiden.

Robin Danely, who has helped organise the display, said: 'The exhibition brings together painting, drawing, photography, textiles, ceramics and installation, revealing the breadth and diversity of artistic practices by the two organisations.' The exhibition will also include photographs documenting the 80 years of history, and pictures of the sport and cultural exchanges that have taken place between the cities, involving thousands of people.
