Four-star guard Jakyi Miles, ranked number 19 nationally, has committed to Arizona State University.

Four-star guard Jakyi Miles, ranked number 19 nationally by ESPN, has committed to Arizona State University. The Chandler high school player announced his decision at a news conference at AZ Compass Prep, where he plays.

Miles said he chose to stay close to home because of the coaching staff's belief in him and his connection with them. 'It's just home. It's right there in my backyard,' he said. He also praised Bennett's communication and his willingness to let Miles play his style of basketball.

Miles becomes ASU's highest-ranked local basketball commitment since Jahii Carson. He will reclassify for 2027. The commitment is the third from a top-100 high school recruit under new head coach Randy Bennett, who took the job at ASU in March after 25 years at Saint Mary's.
