Folk duo Gilmore & Roberts will perform at St Helen's Church in Abingdon on November 5.

Award-winning folk duo Gilmore & Roberts will perform at St Helen's Church in Abingdon on November 5 as part of the Music at the Unicorn concert series. Katriona Gilmore and Jamie Roberts are known for their powerful harmonies and genre-blending sound. They have been nominated three times at the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards and have toured internationally.

The duo's latest album, Documenting Snapshots, is their first release since 2018's A Problem of Our Kind. Recorded over more than a year at home, the album reflects their personal journey through parenthood and changing times. Ms Gilmore said: 'So much has changed since our last album. It feels like a different landscape altogether.' Mr Roberts said: 'The music industry is still feeling the fallout of the pandemic, and on a more personal level we now have two young children, so making this record had to fit around our lives rather than the other way round.'

Gilmore & Roberts have played major UK acoustic festivals and toured with Fairport Convention. Ms Gilmore, who grew up in Knebworth, began performing in folk clubs at 14 and has worked with The Albion Band and The Willows. Mr Roberts, from Barnsley, has performed with Kerfuffle, The Dovetail Trio, and the Emily Askew Band. The concert starts at 7.15pm, with doors opening at 7pm.
