Vernon Kay forgot his Halloween costume during BBC Radio 2's breakfast show on Friday, October 30.

Vernon Kay forgot his Halloween costume during an on-air handover with fellow BBC Radio 2 presenter Sara Cox on Friday, October 30. When Cox noticed the missing costume during the breakfast show wrap-up, Kay immediately caught on and told her to 'shut your face Cox, I know where you're going with this.'

Cox had been teasing Kay about the costume reveal that listeners had been anticipating. She said: 'All the talk has been like, "All right, now you're going to see his outfit. You wait till you see his costume, you wait." And we're going to put the cameras on, and you'll see it.' But she admitted things had not gone to plan, saying: 'And then something went pear-shaped, but I'll let you explain.'

Kay responded with a light-hearted analogy, saying: 'I'm like a moth when it sees the fluorescent light in the garage.' When Cox asked if he had been distracted that morning, he confirmed he had: 'Yeah I went chasing and left the house without my Halloween costume, so it's no surprise to many, disappointment to lots.'
