Bicester Town Council to return sports ground to Cherwell
Summarised from 2 outlets · Updated 26 Oct, 13:01 · Archive
Bicester Town Council will return management of Whitelands Farm Sports Ground to Cherwell District Council from 1 April 2027. The transfer follows several years of discussions between the two councils.
The town council has described returning the facility to Cherwell as the 'most appropriate way forward' for its long-term future. Plans for a new £900,000 3G football pitch at the site have progressed earlier this year and will sit alongside the existing pitch.
The sports ground and The Kitchen and Bar will remain open as usual during the transition period. Bicester Town Council has reassured residents, clubs and users that its priority is continuity of service and said it will share further updates as soon as possible.
