Brisbane Roar captain Tom Aldred has rejoined the club after winning three titles in two seasons with Indian Super League side Mohun Bagan.

Tom Aldred has rejoined Brisbane Roar as captain after two successful seasons with Indian Super League side Mohun Bagan. During his time in India, the veteran central defender won the ISL Shield, the ISL Cup and the Indian Football Association Shield. He had previously captained Brisbane for five seasons without lifting any silverware before departing in 2024.

Aldred said his return to the Roar made 'sense' after being approached by the club's sporting director James Gow. 'That two-year period away has allowed me to step away from here and to come back with a different mindset in terms of having had a successful period,' Aldred said. 'I now know what it takes to get over the line, and hopefully I can help the club and my teammates to do that.'

Brisbane's opening A-League match of the season takes place on Friday night against Perth Glory at Suncorp Stadium.
