Bristol Rovers have announced the appointment of Lee Tomlin as a first-team coach. The 37-year-old will assist manager Steve Evans and other coaches in day-to-day training at The Quarters Training Facility.
Tomlin enjoyed a lengthy playing career in the EFL, making over 580 appearances across 17 years. He played for clubs including Peterborough United, Middlesbrough, AFC Bournemouth, Nottingham Forest, Cardiff and Doncaster. He also made 60 appearances for Bristol City during his time there.
Most recently, Tomlin worked at National League side Morecambe as assistant manager and was appointed joint caretaker manager in January following the sacking of Ashvir Singh Johal. Tomlin said of his appointment: 'I've known the gaffer for 20 years and I know he's a born winner. His record speaks for itself so for me to come in and be part of this group, it's a real privilege.' He added that he hoped to provide another voice for Evans to consult on team matters.
