Mill House Care Home in Witney raised £389.91 for Against Breast Cancer during the town's annual Witney in Pink campaign.

Mill House Care Home in Witney raised £389.91 during a fundraising event held as part of the town's annual Witney in Pink campaign, which supports the charity Against Breast Cancer. The afternoon event featured a teddy bear naming competition, raffle, lucky dip, cakes and refreshments.

Nicola Bramble, home manager at Mill House Care Home, said: 'I'm so proud of our residents, team and everyone who helped make the afternoon such a success. It was lovely to see everyone come together, enjoy themselves and support such an important cause.' She added that Witney in Pink is a brilliant example of the local community coming together and that the home was pleased to support Against Breast Cancer.

The event was supported by Mark Smith from JM Guest Designer, who donated jewellery and gems to help raise funds. Live music was provided by Katie Humble, with residents and visitors joining in to sing along to well-known songs. Visitor Phyllis guessed the teddy bear's name as Dolly, chosen as a tribute to Dolly Parton, whilst team member Shirley was among the raffle winners.

Witney in Pink takes place every September and sees the town turn pink to raise funds and awareness for Against Breast Cancer. The care home said the funds raised build on a recent event that collected more than £500 for Thames Valley Air Ambulance.
