Como manager Cesc Fabregas says his side will compete against Manchester United in the Champions League despite acknowledging the visitors' quality.

Como will host Manchester United in the Champions League on Wednesday night at the Stadio Giuseppe Sinigaglia. The Italian side's arrival in the top flight is a remarkable turnaround following promotion from Serie B in 2024. They qualified for the Champions League for the first time in their history by finishing fourth in Serie A last season.

Como have made an impressive start to European competition, beating RB Leipzig 4-1 in their opening game, though they subsequently lost 3-2 to Feyenoord. Manager Cesc Fabregas acknowledged Manchester United's quality but expressed confidence in his team's ability to compete. 'It's a great match against one of the best and biggest teams in history,' he said. 'It's a match to dream about, but we must try to do our best to try to win and pick up the three points.' Fabregas suggested that whilst Manchester United have better individual players, Como can match them through determination and mentality.
