Channel 4 has reportedly cancelled the home makeover series Renovation Rescue, which was backed by Reese Witherspoon's production company Hello Sunshine.
Channel 4 has reportedly cancelled Renovation Rescue, a home makeover series backed by Reese Witherspoon's Hello Sunshine production company. The show featured Stacey Solomon as host in its first series, with Vogue Williams and Luke Mabbott taking over for the second.
The series focused on homeowners whose renovation projects had stalled or gone wrong, with a team of experts stepping in to help complete the work. Ms Williams brought professional experience in construction design and quantity surveying to the role, whilst Mr Mabbott is a trained heating and plumbing engineer.
The cancellation comes as UK broadcasters review their home improvement content. The BBC announced it will rest its long-running DIY SOS after 27 years on air.
A television insider told The Sun: 'Renovation Rescue had a lot going for it – with some big names fronting it and a big name backing it. But it seems that home-improvement shows – even when helping people in dire need of assistance – are not quite what they were.'
For Ms Solomon, the show marked another step in her lifestyle television career, building on her appearances on The X Factor, Loose Women and the BBC's Sort Your Life Out. She has become known for her approachable style and frequent home improvement content shared with her social media followers.
The involvement of Hello Sunshine, founded by Oscar-winning actress Reese Witherspoon and known for female-led projects across film and television, made the reported cancellation particularly notable.
