Chessington World of Adventures was evacuated after reports of a threat.

Chessington World of Adventures in Chessington, about 12 miles south west of London, was evacuated after reports of a threat. Staff and visitors were instructed to leave the premises along Leatherhead Road earlier in the morning. The park issued a closure notice and advised guests to contact its customer services team after 2pm or accept alternative tickets at LEGOLAND Windsor.

Emergency services attended the site, with police officers and sniffer dogs spotted around the area. A social media account covering the park, Chessington Buzz, confirmed there had been a park-wide evacuation. One visitor reported the evacuation was carried out in a 'very quick and calm manner for what was probably a very scary situation for all involved'.

The specific nature of the threat was not clarified in the park's official statements. The Metropolitan Police, which covers Chessington, was approached for comment. Leatherhead Road was briefly closed in both directions between Fairoak Lane and Barwell Business Park.
