Residents at Tall Trees Glade in Chipping Norton have taken photographs for the National Day of Arts in Care Homes.
Residents at Care UK's Tall Trees Glade in Chipping Norton have been practising photography skills for the National Day of Arts in Care Homes. They captured images that reflect their hobbies and interests, with the photographs now being mounted ready for display at the home.
Tricia Juler, a 79-year-old resident with a lifelong passion for art, photographed her own colourful paintings and the piano she enjoys playing. Ms Juler said: 'I used to use a Polaroid Instamatic camera, but I can now see it is so easy to use an iPhone camera.' Inspired by her enthusiasm, other residents joined in the activity. Susan Ripley, 84, photographed a bronze horse statue in tribute to her love of horses, while 84-year-old Jean Kent captured the home's floral bistro decorations, combining her fondness for flowers and a cup of tea.
Lisa Bailey, home manager at Tall Trees Glade, said the activity was 'a lovely way of finding out more about residents and the things which have always been important to them'. The display will give residents the chance to showcase their creativity and share the stories behind their snapshots with visitors.
