Alton Garden Centre in Wickford unveiled its Christmas display on 17 October featuring Harry Potter decorations and festive attractions.

Alton Garden Centre in Wickford launched its Christmas display on 17 and 18 October with attractions including twinkling lights, themed decorations and a dedicated Harry Potter section.

The centre, part of the UK's largest family-run garden centre group British Garden Centres, has been transformed with hundreds of Christmas lights, a model village and immersive displays. Visitors can explore a Harry Potter area featuring Platform 9 3/4 signs, themed baubles and lit-up potions.

This year's display marks a new era for the centre under the ownership of the Stubbs family and British Garden Centres. A spokesman said the centre was 'pulling out all the stops to make this year's celebrations bigger and brighter than ever', with the campaign themed 'Where Magic Begins'.

A new on-site restaurant serves seasonal meals, winter warmers and festive treats for visitors. The centre also offers Santa experiences and a selection of gifts and Fern Christmas decorations.

Libby Stubbs, events manager at British Garden Centres, said: 'Christmas at British Garden Centres is about so much more than decorations; it's about bringing people together and making the season the best experience for everyone.' The centre aims to host festive events that families can enjoy throughout the season.
