Coleen and Wayne Rooney are releasing a documentary series called The Real Rooneys on Disney+ this autumn. The eight episodes and two specials will tell the story of a couple living in the media spotlight while attempting to keep their lives grounded. Coleen says: 'Hopefully the series shows us how we are. I always say we have this extraordinary life but we live it very real.'

The pair met at 12 and married at 22. They now live in a mansion house they built on their Cheshire estate near Knutsford, which Coleen dreamed of as a child growing up in Croxteth, Liverpool, a few streets from Wayne's childhood home. Wayne is a former professional footballer, manager and television pundit regarded as one of the greatest players in Premier League history. Coleen has built her own following through her appearance on I'm A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here! in 2024 and her High Street fashion and nutrition supplement endorsements. She has 1.5 million Instagram followers.

The documentary follows previous projects about the couple, including a previous documentary about Wayne and Coleen Rooney: The Real Wagatha Story, a Disney+ series documenting her investigation into leaked Instagram posts and her unsuccessful 2022 High Court libel case brought by fellow footballer's wife Rebekah Vardy.
