Craig Revel Horwood says he would like judges to vote to eliminate contestants from Strictly Come Dancing after the show's first three-couple dance-off.

Craig Revel Horwood has said he would 'love' the chance to vote contestants off Strictly Come Dancing. The judge made the comments after the show's first-ever three-couple dance-off, which resulted in Emmerdale star Lawrence Robb and his professional partner Jowita Przystål being eliminated. Judges were asked to choose who to send home rather than who to save.

The dance-off also featured Bethany Antonia and Nancy Xu, as well as Jaime Winstone and Carlos Gu. Revel Horwood described the experience of voting to eliminate rather than to save as 'a little bit weird'. He said: 'We're used to saving people and getting a cheer, but it was tumbleweed darling. I thought, Oh this feels a bit weird, but I sort of liked it.' When asked if he would want to use this voting style again, he replied: 'Oh yes please.'

Revel Horwood also praised John Nellis and his professional partner Katya Jones, who finished second on the leaderboard. He admitted he had not expected such progress from the YouTuber, saying: 'You don't expect it from him, when we were rehearsing the launch show, he was a complete dance disaster and I thought, This guy isn't going to get it at all. It took him ages to learn one little step but his improvement is beyond.'

He added: 'What I love about him is he puts his acting shoulder in every dance and it transforms and that's what it's all about.' Revel Horwood also praised Lacey Turner and Vito Coppola, who topped the leaderboard for the first time with their Charleston. He said: 'She hit the bar and it was really high. She really fell in love with the dance and you can tell.'
