Cumbrian children invited to Global Kindness Map project

Summarised from 2 outlets · Updated 31 Oct, 06:17 · Archive

Children and young people in Cumbria are invited to submit creative acts of kindness to an international project by 28 February 2027.

Children and young people aged three to 21 in Cumbria are being invited to share acts of kindness through the Global Kindness Map, an international creative project created by International Kindness Reset. The project is open to those at schools, youth groups and individuals, with submissions accepted until 28 February 2027.

Participants are invited to notice, practise, create, reflect on and share kindness. Their work will be displayed on the project website in categories including 'kindness I saw', 'kindness I practised', 'kindness we did together' and 'kindness I created'. Entries can be submitted using creative forms such as art, writing, photography, music, dance and video. There is no cost to take part.

Malgorzata Kmita, International Kindness Coordinator of the UK, said the project 'provides an opportunity for children and young people to participate in an innovative international project which encourages and affirms their creativity'. She added that 'kindness is an attitude, an action, an activity, as well as a value'. Ms Kmita said she was not currently aware of any involvement or submissions from Cumbria or elsewhere in the UK, and is networking to raise awareness and encourage participation across the county.

The project aims to show how kindness is understood and expressed in different countries and cultures, while encouraging young people to see themselves as creators and agents of positive change.
