Summarised from 2 outlets · Updated 13 Oct, 13:32 · Archive

Dove Nest Group has secured a six-figure loan to upgrade its residential training centre in Kendal with accessible accommodation for disabled and wheelchair users.

Dove Nest Group, a Cumbrian leadership training firm, has secured a six-figure loan from NPIF II – FW Capital Debt Finance, managed by FW Capital under the Northern Powerhouse Investment Fund II. The funding will upgrade the company's residential training centre at Crosthwaite Mill in Kendal to include accessible accommodation and facilities for disabled and wheelchair users.

The training centre is housed in an 18th-century corn mill in the Lyth Valley. Dove Nest Group was founded by husband and wife team Dave and Karen Moore and has more than 45 years of experience delivering leadership, coaching, talent development and psychometric profiling services. The company also operates offices in Millness and Crooklands.

Beth Burrow, finance director at Dove Nest Group, said: 'This funding allows us to transform our ground-floor offices into high-quality, accessible residential spaces, ensuring that wheelchair users and those with disabilities can fully enjoy our facilities.' She added that the funding would allow the company to preserve the heritage of the historic corn mill while modernising it for the future. 'It's been two years in the making and it's fantastic to have secured this funding,' she said.
