Australia captain Pat Cummins says he has no concerns about potential revelations in Usman Khawaja's upcoming autobiography.

Pat Cummins has confirmed he spoke to Usman Khawaja about his former team-mate's forthcoming autobiography but expressed no concerns about potential sandpapergate revelations. Khawaja played in all four Tests during the 2018 ball-tampering scandal in Cape Town and retired from international cricket in January. His autobiography will be released in November.

Cummins said Khawaja gave him advance notice of the book. 'He didn't go into too much detail, just basically gave me the heads-up that he is doing a book and, as always, no worries,' Cummins said. 'Tell your story. It's fine.'

The Australia captain added that the incident was a long time ago. 'It's obviously a long time ago and all the investigations, everything was done back then and we answered every question a million times,' he said. The scandal saw captain Steve Smith, vice-captain David Warner and batter Cameron Bancroft banned. The four bowlers who played in that match, including Cummins, have denied they had any prior knowledge of the plan. They released a joint statement about the episode in 2021.
