CD Projekt Red is releasing a major update for Cyberpunk 2077 tied to Netflix's Edgerunners season 2.

CD Projekt Red is releasing update 2.5 for Cyberpunk 2077 on Thursday, October 22, to coincide with the launch of Edgerunners season 2 on Netflix. This comes despite the developer having previously stated it was finished releasing major updates for the game. The update includes content inspired by the new season, including a new side quest, a gear set based on the character Weak Kingsley, and a new radio station featuring Edgerunners music.

The update also introduces cross-platform mod support powered by mod.io, allowing players to browse and install player-created mods directly from the in-game menu. This feature is available on PC, Mac, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2, with more mods becoming available over time. Other additions include a new dual-wielding playstyle for pistols and revolvers through a Double Trouble perk option, cyberware customisation, a Richard Night-guided tour side quest, and grouped saves sorted by playthrough.

CD Projekt Red will present the update in detail during a video presentation on Wednesday, October 21 at 4pm BST. The update represents a substantial addition to the game, which initially launched in troubled condition in 2020 but has since been significantly improved through consistent updates and the Phantom Liberty expansion.
