Benjamin Day denies murdering sex worker Maria Saceanu at an Oldbury Airbnb where he allegedly attempted to mutilate her body.
Benjamin Day, from Redditch, is accused of murdering sex worker Maria Saceanu, 24, at an Oldbury Airbnb. Prosecutors allege he rented the room specifically to commit the murder and dispose of the body.
The jury has been told Day is fascinated by the US television show Dexter, which centres on a serial killer. Prosecutors claim he attempted to mutilate Saceanu's body and kept a trophy from the incident. A lodger at the property reported finding a blood trail left behind after the alleged incident.
Day is alleged to have sustained a serious wound to his left hand while attempting to dismember the body. He claimed to have been bitten by a fox, according to the court. Day denies murdering Saceanu.
