Eight-month-old Saluki cross Suri seeks active adoptive family

Suri, an eight-month-old Saluki cross found as a stray, is available for adoption through Dogs Trust Cumbria in Penrith.

Suri, an eight-month-old Saluki cross, was found as a stray and is now available for adoption through Dogs Trust Cumbria in Penrith. She is currently in foster care, where she is learning to relax and feel loved, and is settling well into home life.

Suri is described as gentle and excitable, and seeks human company, preferring to stay close to people. She greets everyone she meets and has already learned to sit for treats, showing she is ready for further training. Her foster carers note that she will need to learn to keep her paws on the ground when greeting people.

The ideal home for Suri would be an active household capable of providing regular exercise. She enjoys playing off lead in a secure field and likes toys, so new owners should be prepared to provide things for play. Dogs Trust says she could potentially live with another dog and children of secondary school age, though any home would need to support her training and exercise needs.

Potential adopters can contact Dogs Trust Cumbria or visit its Community Hub at 3 Middlegate, Penrith. The hub is open Monday to Saturday: 9am to 3pm on Monday, Tuesday and Friday; 11am to 3pm on Wednesday and Thursday; and 9am to 4pm on Saturday.
