Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire has become one of the UK's most recognisable filming locations, hosting productions including a new Sense and Sensibility adaptation released in September.

Blenheim Palace has become one of the UK's most recognisable filming locations. The new film adaptation of Jane Austen's Sense and Sensibility, released on 25 September, stars British actors Daisy Edgar-Jones, Esme Creed-Miles and George Mackay. Director Georgia Oakley spent the entire five-month filming period searching for the right setting, eventually finding it at Bladon Bridge in the grounds of the palace.

Designed by Sir John Vanbrugh with significant input from Nicholas Hawksmoor, the palace is regarded as the finest example of truly Baroque architecture in Great Britain. The 2,100-acre estate was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1987 and was the birthplace of Winston Churchill in 1874.

The palace has featured prominently in major film and television productions. In Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, the estate's famous cedar of Lebanon tree overlooking the Great Lake was used in a scene where Harry Potter glimpses the childhood memories of Severus Snape. The location remains a popular attraction for fans of the franchise. James Bond: Spectre transformed the palace's Great Court into a lavish Roman setting, with the courtyard doubling as the Palazzo Cardenza during a key meeting of the Spectre organisation.
