A child in a pram was injured after a firework was thrown towards a woman and her children in Linkwood Place, Drumchapel, Glasgow on Saturday 31 October around 6.35pm. The child sustained minor injuries in the attack, which left the family understandably shaken.
Detective Constable Ashley Convery described the incident as 'completely reckless', adding that whilst the child's injuries were minor, 'it could've ended much worse'. Police are appealing for anyone who saw people with fireworks in the area that evening to come forward. They are also asking those with private CCTV or dash-cam footage to review it for any evidence that could assist with their investigation.
Police Scotland said the type of behaviour would not be tolerated and that additional officers would be deployed across the community ahead of Bonfire Night. Anyone with information can contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 2804 of 31 October 2026.
