Jet2 unveils first dedicated business class aircraft

Summarised from 3 outlets · Updated 29 Oct, 07:10 · Archive

Jet2 has introduced its first aircraft configured with a dedicated business class cabin, a Boeing 737-800NG based at Liverpool.

Jet2 has introduced its first aircraft with a dedicated business class cabin. The newly configured Boeing 737-800NG, operated by the Jet2 Charter team, is based at Liverpool John Lennon Airport and has already carried its first charter customers.

The business class cabin features 76 seats with 43 inches of legroom, a significant reduction from the airline's standard 189-seat configuration. This marks the first time Jet2 has offered a dedicated business class specification.

Trevor Caplis, head of charter and airline sales at Jet2, said: 'This is the first time that we have featured a dedicated business class specification on our aircraft, so this is an incredibly exciting development for charter customers.' He added that feedback from charter customers who have flown on the aircraft has been positive, with passengers responding well to the premium feel, space and comfort onboard.

The airline said the new cabin was developed in response to demand from clients seeking privacy, comfort and flexibility, especially among sports, music and entertainment groups, and other specialist groups. In addition to the upgraded seating, passengers benefit from enhanced catering options, more personal space, and an elevated onboard experience delivered by Jet2's crew.

Further charter bookings are available for the winter season.
