The Environment Agency has issued two flood alerts across the Essex coast, in effect from 11pm on Friday until 1am on Saturday, October 10. The alerts cover the coast from Clacton to Felixstowe in the north and from Clacton to St Peters Flat in the south, with a separate alert for Coalhouse Fort in Tilbury.
Peak tide levels are expected to be significantly higher than those forecast in tide tables.
