An après ski village is opening at Roundwood in Taverham near Norwich this December. Club Curl will feature 10 artificial no-ice curling lanes, mulled cider, beers, shots and a seating area for up to 240 guests. The food will be Alpine-inspired, with warmers at the bar, sharing plates and cocktails served by chef Justin Unsworth, who owns the Cabin restaurant.
The pop-up will operate seven days a week throughout December. Tom Trivedi of Roundwood said the venue was looking for new uses for the bowls arena and spotted an opportunity in the growing interest in curling. "Curling is getting a lot of attention without anywhere really to try it around here," he said. "We love après ski and the vibe ski resorts bring so we are putting we love to the forefront in Norfolk."
Trivedi added that feedback had been positive. "It should be a really good atmosphere," he said. The venue will also feature live DJs during its run.
