Britain's Got Talent in talks to bring back Piers Morgan

Producers are reportedly planning to bring back original judge Piers Morgan as a guest judge for the show's 20th anniversary series in 2027.

Britain's Got Talent producers are reportedly planning to bring back original judge Piers Morgan for the show's 20th anniversary series in 2027, 16 years after he last appeared on the programme. Morgan judged the show alongside Simon Cowell and Amanda Holden for the first four series before leaving to host a US chat show.

According to a source, talks are under way to feature Morgan as a guest judge during January auditions. A source told The Sun: 'A 20th anniversary extravaganza is in the works as producers work out which familiar faces to bring back to celebrate the huge milestone.' The source noted that 'Simon, Piers and Amanda had such fun chemistry'.

The producers are also considering bringing back former contestants to celebrate the milestone. Paul Potts won the debut series in 2007, and Susan Boyle finished second in 2009. Both are among those being considered for a return during the live shows later in the year. This would not be unprecedented: for the 10th anniversary in 2017, returning performers included Diversity and Stavros Flatley.

Changes to the judging panel are also in the works beyond Morgan's potential return. Bradley Walsh is reported to be set to take Simon Cowell's seat on the judging panel for some of the next series.
