Four students from Glynllifon campus have secured places on the Welsh Government-funded Junior Academy with Farming Connect.

Four students and alumni from Grŵp Llandrillo Menai's Glynllifon campus in Gwynedd have been selected for the Welsh Government-funded Junior Academy with Farming Connect. The cohort of four represents a third of the 12 places available nationally each year on this competitive scheme.

The successful applicants are: 19-year-old Efa Gwilym Williams from Llansannan, a Level 3 agriculture graduate who works on her family's beef and sheep farm and runs her own soil sampling business; Efan Jones from Llandudno, an alumnus and Agri Apprentice at Coed Coch Farms Ltd gaining experience in commercial regenerative farming; Esyllt Lois Hughes, 17, from Moelfre, Ynys Môn, a Level 3 agriculture student with experience in livestock enterprises; and Ffion Erin Owen from Chwilog, who brings a background in customer service and livestock management.

Martin Jardine, director of agri-food at Grŵp Llandrillo Menai, said the achievement reflected the students' individual hard work and the opportunities available at Glynllifon. The Junior Academy provides training in media handling, public speaking, meeting management, and advocacy, alongside connections with industry leaders and a lifelong professional network designed to develop future agricultural leaders.
