The Telethon Family Festival returns to Perth's CBD on Sunday, October 18, with free rides, entertainment and The Wiggles.
Perth's Telethon Family Festival returns on Sunday, October 18, transforming the CBD from RAC Arena to Yagan Square into a free community celebration. The Lotterywest Kids Carnival opposite RAC Arena will feature free carnival rides, sideshow games and show bags. Yagan Square will be converted into a family fun zone with free face-painting, glitter stations and a live mermaid and merman show performed inside a giant 12-metre aqua tank.
Children's entertainment will include The Wiggles and Emma Memma performing alongside WWE wrestlers and Channel 7 stars in the Telethon meet and greet area. Live music and roving entertainment will accompany food trucks and sausage sizzles throughout the festival.
Beyond entertainment, the festival showcases Telethon's community impact. Visitors can try adaptive sports at the Aidacare All-Abilities Sports Precinct and view the Alcoa Cycle Challenge's eight-hour endurance ride. The BuildNow Foundation will conduct a live race-against-the-clock challenge outside RAC Arena to construct 10 wheelchair-accessible garden beds and elevated sandpits for local children with severe mobility difficulties.
