Land artist James Brunt is displaying his woodland-inspired exhibition Home at Kirkleatham Walled Garden from October 17 to mid-December.

Land artist James Brunt, based in Kirkleatham, Redcar, has unveiled an exhibition titled Home at the Bothy Gallery in Kirkleatham Walled Garden, running from October 17 to mid-December. The exhibition is inspired by the woodland surrounding his home, which he began exploring the day after he moved to the village on December 2, 2025.

Brunt's work is created in harmony with the seasons and explores the textures and materials of the woodland using fallen branches, leaves, and other natural elements to form temporary installations. He said the exhibition represents his creative practice when left to his own devices: 'This is what I do when left to my own devices, just me, the landscape around me and wildlife that I share the space with, deeply connected to the natural world.'

The artist has previously completed commissions for ITV and HBO, and worked on international events in Taiwan, the United States, and Spain. He is also known for large-scale public pieces in Knowsley, Ashington, and Waddesdon Manor in Buckinghamshire. Hazel Robinson, who works at Kirkleatham Walled Garden, said the venue was 'so proud to be able to host James' exhibition Home at the walled garden.'
