Rockstar Games has released the launch trailer for Grand Theft Auto 6, showing protagonists Jason and Lucia on a crime spree.

Rockstar Games has released the launch trailer for Grand Theft Auto 6, featuring crime-duo protagonists Jason and Lucia. The trailer was captured entirely in-game on PlayStation 5.

The footage shows Jason beginning the story receiving a call from Lucia in prison. A montage follows with both characters on various missions, including scenes of them evading police and fighting. The trailer also depicts bank robberies, a helicopter crashing into a building, Lucia climbing the wheels of an aeroplane, and Jason sneaking onto a ship. Lucia is shown wearing an ankle monitor, suggesting she has not fully escaped the law at the start of the story.

The trailer's cinematic quality makes it difficult to distinguish between cutscenes and gameplay. Metro reports that it includes teases of a steamy shower scene between Jason and Lucia, and that Rockstar has already confirmed the game will contain nudity. The trailer description includes a new story synopsis: 'Jason and Lucia have always known the deck is stacked against them.'

Rockstar has indicated this is the final official footage before the game's release, suggesting the developer will now return to its customary silence on the title.
