Worcestershire hosts Oktoberfest, heritage railway rides and Halloween trails at National Trust sites this weekend.

Worcestershire is hosting several events for half-term and Halloween this weekend, 24 and 25 October.

Kidderminster Oktoberfest returns on Saturday from 4pm at The Weaving Sheds. The event will feature live oompah bands including Vorsprung Durch Oompah, a DJ, street food and singalong anthems. Free tickets are available through a partnership with FAB Food Fest.

The Severn Valley Railway in Kidderminster operates steam and diesel-hauled trains on both Saturday and Sunday. Young passengers can collect complimentary Eye Spy booklets, while The Engine House Visitor Centre at Highley offers activities, an outdoor play area and a travelling post office.

National Trust sites are running Halloween-themed trails. At Hanbury Hall near Droitwich, families follow a character named Charis through the gardens attempting to rescue his friend Cleon from the underworld, with features including Medusa, the Minotaur's Labyrinth and Poison Apple Bobbing. Children can also create a Medusa mask in the Long Gallery. At Croome near High Green, visitors follow a folklore-inspired trail using the Stranger Folk app, featuring tree spirits, hobgoblins, bogarts, riddles and challenges inspired by British folklore, aimed particularly at children aged seven to 12.
