A free conference on green innovation and sustainability will take place in Basingstoke on 10 November.

A free conference on sustainable business practices will take place in Basingstoke on 10 November. Unlocking Hampshire's Green Potential 2026, organised by Hampshire Chamber of Commerce and now in its fourth year, will run from 9am to 1pm at the Apollo Hotel. The event will feature 11 speakers, 24 exhibitors, a green innovation panel and a STEM challenge for students.

The conference will explore how green innovation can drive economic growth, improve energy resilience and support a transition to sustainability. Ross McNally, chief executive and executive chairman of Hampshire Chamber of Commerce, said that energy security and sustainability are critical to future-proofing the region, particularly amid geopolitical instability and rising costs of living and doing business. He stated that moving towards a greener economy must involve practical action as well as ambition, and that businesses need support to decarbonise and invest in clean technologies.

McNally said the conference would offer practical insights into embedding sustainability into operations, developing greener products and services, and identifying greener opportunities across supply chains, skills and emerging technologies. Barry Smith, event co-ordinator and chair Basingstoke for Hampshire Chamber, described this year's event as bigger than previous years.
