Paranormal investigators return to Norwich house on Halloween

Paranormal investigators are returning to Carrow House in Norwich on Halloween to identify spirits believed to haunt its cellars. Shadow Hunters UK, led by Sam Howett, Angel-Mae Howett, Darren Gowing and Wayne Yaxley, will conduct the investigation on 31 October with 20 guests. The group was met with 'shuffling footsteps' and 'muffled voices' when exploring the Victorian site with ghost-hunting equipment, including cat balls and REM pods, during a previous visit in May.
Carrow House, a grade II listed building on King Street, is known for its connection to the Colman family and the mustard industry. The building features three levels of cellars available for investigation. Ms Howett described it as 'the biggest site we have been to' and said she had never experienced 'that feeling' in cellars before.
For the Halloween investigation, Shadow Hunters UK plans to use an infinity deck—a set of cards paranormal investigators believe can help communicate with spirits—alongside cameras to capture anomalies. Ms Howett also noted an 'intriguing' Colman family motto displayed in one of the glass panels reading 'soon enough if well enough'. The event is run in collaboration with Norwich Unity Hub CIO, a charity that hires out the site to community organisations.
