Summarised from 2 outlets · Updated 10 Oct, 06:19 · Archive

Platform Housing Group is celebrating Black History Month in October with events across Worcester, Malvern and Hereford.

Platform Housing Group is placing customers and communities at the heart of its Black History Month celebrations this October. The programme of events is led by the organisation's Cultural Excellence and Afro Caribbean Equality Group (CE & ACEG) and aims to honour the stories, cultures and achievements that strengthen communities across the Midlands.

A centrepiece celebration is planned for Tuesday, October 13, from 11am to 2pm at Platform's Birmingham Business Park and Worcester offices. The programme will include a Customer Voice Spotlight, a Community Story Showcase, a conversation with Platform board member Maame-Yaa Bempah about leadership, opportunity and community, and recognition of colleague achievement and progression.

In addition to the main event, activities will take place throughout October at Platform's schemes in Worcester, Malvern and Hereford. These will include storytelling sessions, cultural celebrations and cooking activities. Platform is inviting customers to contribute through its online engagement platform, Platform Voices, by sharing stories, celebrating someone who inspires them, or reflecting on a personal achievement or tradition. The first 15 eligible customers who submit a story will each receive a £20 reward.
