Isle of Wight women's groups have provided refreshments at citizenship ceremonies and held fundraising events.
The Isle of Wight Federation of WIs has been supporting British citizenship ceremonies on the island. Members provided refreshments at the most recent ceremony, where 20 individuals gained British citizenship after swearing or affirming an Oath of Allegiance to the King. Federation trustees and local officials including the Vice Lord Lieutenant, High Sheriff and Council vice chair were present. WI members chatted with the new citizens whilst serving tea and home-baked biscuits.
Cowes WI organised a fashion show at Cowes Football Club, with several members modelling items. The event raised £1,100 for the group's chosen charity, Sight for Wight.
