Apple Music's iconic red icon is being replaced with a black-and-white version in iOS 27.2 beta.

Apple Music's iconic red app icon has been replaced with a black-and-white version in the fourth beta of iOS 27.2. In light mode, the logo is black on a white background, while in dark mode it displays as white on a black background. The eighth note on the icon also appears to have a slightly sharper angle than the original design.

The icon refresh follows Apple's debut of a new Apple Music logo in an earlier iOS 27.2 beta and in marketing materials for Apple Music Hall. The company appears to be phasing out much of the red branding that previously characterised the music service.

Beyond the icon, other visual changes in the app include blue highlights for selected navigation bar icons instead of red, and similar colour changes throughout the Music app's settings. Apple Music widgets have also been updated with black backgrounds in place of the previous red backgrounds. The changes suggest a cohesive redesign effort across the app's interface.
