Drug dealers jailed after county lines operations in Suffolk

Summarised from 2 outlets · Updated 18 Oct, 11:31 · Archive

Two drug dealers have been jailed at Ipswich Crown Court for running county lines operations supplying Class A drugs.

Kobi Nelson, 24, was sentenced to 31 months in prison for running a county lines operation supplying Class A drugs in the Bury St Edmunds area. He admitted being concerned in making an offer to supply cocaine between March 10 and May 7, 2025. Police found a lock-knife, mobile phone and SIM card linked to the drugs line when searching a Vauxhall Corsa. Ipswich Crown Court heard Nelson had controlled the line for a short period, with 154 bulk text messages advertising drugs sent to more than 8,000 users.

Mason McGarry, 20, of Fuchsia Lane, Ipswich, was also jailed after running a county lines operation supplying cocaine and heroin from Sussex to Ipswich. When police stopped him as he left a cinema in Charles English Close, McGarry climbed onto a roof and threw his mobile phone into a nearby river. He told officers he had swallowed 20 wraps of heroin and 20 wraps of cocaine. McGarry was sentenced alongside two others who had travelled to Ipswich with him, and a large machete and a 'Rambo' knife were discovered hidden under a seat in their car.
