Katie Price gave evidence at the trial of her ex-husband Kieran Hayler, who is accused of raping a 13-year-old girl in 2016.
Katie Price, 48, arrived at Lewes Crown Court to give evidence in the trial of her ex-husband Kieran Hayler, 39. Hayler is accused of three counts of rape and one count of sexual assault on a 13-year-old girl. The alleged offences took place between June and October 2016 at a property in West Sussex. He denies all charges.
The girl, now aged 23, reported the allegations to the NSPCC children's charity in December 2021 when she was 18. The charity referred the matter to police, prompting an investigation. Hayler was first interviewed by police in January 2022 and denied the allegations. He has told the court that the allegations are part of a 'campaign' against him and that he believes Price 'set him up' following the breakdown of their marriage, which lasted from 2013 to 2021.
During her testimony last week, the complainant told the court that Hayler texted her after the third alleged rape, saying 'I love you goodnight,' and she replied 'I love you too.' The prosecution has urged the jury not to be distracted by the troubled background between Hayler and Price as their relationship ended.
