Kennedy Center Honors moves to Capital One Arena amid naming dispute
Summarised from 2 outlets · Updated 2 Oct, 18:55 · Archive
The 49th annual Kennedy Center Honors will be held at Capital One Arena instead of the Kennedy Center.
The Kennedy Center announced Friday that the 49th annual Kennedy Center Honors will be held at Capital One Arena in downtown Washington, moving the event away from the Kennedy Center itself.
The decision coincides with efforts to add President Trump's name to the Kennedy Center. A court has issued an order blocking such a change, though attempts to rename the venue continue.
