Le Havre fans demand American owners leave amid crisis

Le Havre fans are calling for American owners Blue Crow Sports Group to leave after the club's coach was suspended and president resigned.

Le Havre's turmoil intensified this week when head coach Didier Digard was suspended and president Jean-Michel Roussier resigned following the club's 5-1 loss to Paris Saint-Germain. French media have also reported that sports director Demba Ba and goalkeeping coach Nicolas Douchez are departing. Roussier's resignation is to be formally ratified on Thursday, while Digard was appointed last summer and Roussier has led the club since 2022.

Le Havre, founded in 1872 and considered the oldest club in French professional football, is languishing at the bottom of Ligue 1 with two points from nine matches and faces relegation. Three fan groups issued a joint statement saying that 'in the space of just a few days, every individual who embodied this club, who helped bring it back to Ligue 1 (in 2023) and keep it there, has disappeared from its organizational structure'.

The fan groups blame American owners Blue Crow Sports Group, who acquired Le Havre in July 2025, for the crisis. 'Blue Crow represents nothing in Le Havre,' they said, accusing the Houston-based multi-club group of dismantling the club and demonstrating 'a complete lack of understanding of how to run a football club, its history and its identity'. Le Havre's next match is against Lorient on Sunday.
