Stockholm-based legal AI startup Legora has raised $550 million in Series E funding at an $8.8 billion valuation.

Stockholm-based legal tech startup Legora has raised $550 million in Series E funding at an $8.8 billion valuation, the company announced Wednesday. Legora creates AI tools for law firms and corporate in-house legal teams to automate document drafting and review. The funding will support expansion in North America, where the company has offices in New York, Denver, Chicago, Houston, San Francisco, Toronto and Mexico City, as well as in Europe and Asia-Pacific.

Legora chief executive and co-founder Max Junestrand said the company aims to lead the shift in how AI is reshaping the legal profession. 'AI is changing the role of the lawyer, with more time for judgement and advice, and it is reshaping how law firms and in-house legal teams are organised and how their work gets done,' Junestrand said. The company plans to invest heavily in its agentic operating system, Legora aOS.

Investors in the round include Atreides Management, which led it, alongside Baron Capital, Bessemer Venture Partners and General Catalyst. This follows Legora's April announcement of a $50 million extension to a Series D round that valued the company at $5.6 billion. The company's annual recurring revenue has grown to over $200 million from $100 million in April.
