Luka Dončić has arranged free parking and bike rides for Lakers fans ahead of the season opener against the Golden State Warriors.

Luka Dončić arranged free parking for Lakers fans at a lot near Crypto.com Arena and partnered with Metro Bike Share to offer complimentary rides throughout Los Angeles ahead of Wednesday night's season opener against the Golden State Warriors. He also purchased a full-page advertisement in the Los Angeles Times delivering a message to fans and pledging pursuit of an NBA championship.

The moves come as Dončić takes over as the face of the Lakers following LeBron James's departure. Dončić was traded to the Lakers in February 2025 after playing for the Dallas Mavericks, where his fans had been likened to Taylor Swift's fanbase in their devotion. When he left Dallas, Mavericks fans protested outside their arena and brought a casket to mourn his departure.

Dončić enters the 2026-27 season after a severe hamstring injury ended his previous campaign. The generous gestures signal his intent to win over Los Angeles, though parking discounts will not determine playoff success. The franchise's championship aspirations and identity now rest on his shoulders.
