Erling Haaland is available for Manchester City's weekend visit to Aston Villa, though three team-mates face late fitness tests.
Erling Haaland is '100 per cent available' for Manchester City's weekend trip to Aston Villa, manager Enzo Maresca confirmed on Thursday. The striker sustained a blow to the foot in the previous match against Ipswich, where he scored twice before limping off down the tunnel. He was rested as an unused substitute for Tuesday's Champions League victory over AEK Athens, in which Phil Foden scored a hat-trick.
Three other Manchester City players remain uncertain for the Villa Park fixture. Mateo Kovacic is carrying a knock, while Matheus Nunes and Nico O'Reilly are dealing with niggles. All three were absent from the squad against AEK.
Maresca said the three players' fitness would be determined after a training session on Thursday. 'They could all be available or not. Yesterday they were all improving, and we'll see this afternoon,' he explained. City travel to Villa third points clear at the top of the table.
