Meghan Markle has been announced as host of Junior MasterChef Australia, marking her return to television after guest judging on the adult competition.

Meghan Markle has been announced as the new host of Junior MasterChef Australia, marking her return to television. She will work alongside Australian chef and TV presenter Poh Ling Yeow, with the series set to air next year on Network Ten. The announcement was made by Paramount Australia on Tuesday.

Markle previously guest judged on the adult version of MasterChef Australia this April, where contestants were challenged to create a dish 'fit for a duchess'. Her appearance drew the programme's largest Sunday audience since 2023. In a statement, Markle said she 'had an incredible time with the whole team at MasterChef' and that when they approached her to work with the junior contestants, 'it was an easy yes'. She added that she loves cooking with her own children and looks forward to seeing what the young contestants create in the kitchen.

Separately, Fox News reports that Markle is no longer in talks to join the third season of Netflix series The Gentlemen. Sources close to Markle have alleged that Netflix leaked news of her potential involvement to boost publicity for the show. Royal experts told Fox News that Markle's 'safety net' at Netflix 'is gone' following the recent departure of Bela Bajaria, who had championed her projects at the streaming service after nearly ten years there.
