Meghan Markle films countryside walk with children before Harry event

Meghan Markle shared footage of a countryside stroll with her children ahead of her first joint engagement with Prince Harry since their return to the UK.

Meghan Markle shared footage on her Instagram story of a countryside stroll with Prince Archie, seven, and Princess Lilibet, five, on Sunday afternoon. In the short clip, Archie rode a scooter while Lilibet walked alongside him on a tree-lined country road, with a herd of deer visible in the background. The Sussexes' Labrador Pula also featured in the footage, which was set to the song My Girl by The Temptations. Neither Harry nor Meghan appeared in the video.

The walk came ahead of the couple's planned visit to Nottingham on Thursday for what will be their first joint royal-style engagement together since they returned to the UK. Nottingham holds special significance for them, as they made their first joint appearance there in 2017 after announcing their engagement. The itinerary for their visit is said to resemble the kind of engagements they undertook before stepping back from royal duties in 2020. They are expected to visit a number of organisations, including a community recording studio which Harry has previously visited.

Since returning to the UK in August after six years living in the United States, the Sussexes have been involved in a public dispute with Buckingham Palace regarding their status and security detail.
