Two men jailed for Molotov cocktail attacks on Welsh homes

Summarised from 2 outlets · 3 reports · Updated 4 Nov, 11:44 · Archive

Two teenagers have been jailed for nine years and nine months after throwing Molotov cocktails at three homes in south Wales within six hours on 1 June 2026. Yasin Hussain, 18, and Adam Taylor-Morris, 19, both of no fixed abode, were sentenced at Cardiff Crown Court after pleading guilty to three counts of arson with intent to endanger life.

The pair were driven from Scotland to Wales by Taylor-Morris's sister, Danni Taylor, and then travelled between the three targeted homes by taxi. At the first address on Porcher Avenue in Glyncoch, Pontypridd, at around 4am, a brick smashed through a living room window. A Molotov cocktail was then aimed at the broken window but missed and smashed on the floor outside. The pair fled and took a taxi to Caerphilly, where at around 7am they threw a brick through a window of a home on Wallis Drive. A petrol-filled glass bottle was thrown through the window and ignited on impact, but the fire was quickly extinguished.

For the third attack, at around 9am on Pearson Crescent in Glyncoch, Taylor-Morris filmed on his phone as Hussain put a Molotov cocktail through an open living room window. The bottle set the room alight. South Wales Police said the attacks could have caused serious injury or loss of life.
